Dr. Elizabeth Matto
Dr. Elizabeth MattoElizabeth Matto is the Director of the Youth Political Participation Program (YPPP) and leads YPPP’s research, educational, and service efforts. She earned her Ph.D. in American Politics at the George Washington University in Washington, D.C. and is an Assistant Research Professor at the Eagleton Institute of Politics.
Brendan L. Keating
Brendan L. KeatingBrendan is the new program coordinator for YPPP. Brendan earned his B.A. in Political Science from the University of Colorado at Boulder and a Master's from the Cornell University School of Industrial and Labor Relations. In addition, he also sits on the Board of Directors of The League of Women Voters of New Jersey.
Rhiannon-JonesRhiannon Jones is senior Douglass woman majoring in Planning & Public Policy and Sociology and minoring in Africana Studies. She is excited to be a Ralph W. Voorhees Public Service Fellow this year and hopes the community based research she conducts will help prepare her for a career in program development and implementation research post-graduation.
Julia StadlingerJulia is currently a Junior at Rutgers studying Public Policy. She hopes to attend graduate school and eventually work in the non-profit sector to help advance women’s rights in the domestic and international sphere.
Katie LeachKatie is a senior at Rutgers majoring in Political Science with a minor in History. She hopes to work in political journalism upon graduation and hopes that this internship will allow her to explore the gaps in our current education system with regards to civic education.
Aasha ShaikAasha Shaik is a first-year student double majoring in Business and Political Science and minoring in International & Global Studies. A Douglass Residential College woman, Aasha is passionate about reaching marginalized groups through social and political activism. She is excited to be working with Eagleton and Darien!
Asya Johnson-BaldeoAsya is a senior at Rutgers University majoring in Political Science and Communication. She looks forward to participating in this years Darien Civic Engagement Project to generate enthusiasm and increase civic participation in young people, as well as expand her own knowledge.
Casie SalvadoreCasie Salvadore is currently a freshman double majoring in Political Science and Psychology, with plans to attend law school after graduation. As a student in the Darien Civic Engagement Project she hopes to create change within her community.
Gianna BaldevGianna is a sophomore majoring in Philosophy & Political Science and minoring in Economics. In the future, she hopes to attend law school and work in the non-profit sector to work towards reforming America's penal system and protecting and advancing civil rights everywhere.
Kenta ImamuraKenta is an exchange student from Japan. He is studying political science here, especially politics of the United States. He would like to learn about the American citizens’ engagement in political activities in various kinds of ways.
Madhu MohanmuraliMadhu is currently a freshman in the School of Arts and Sciences, with plans to major in Political Science and Journalism & Media Studies. Madhu is currently involved with Cabaret Theatre on campus, and hopes to get more involved at Rutgers throughout the semester. She is excited to work in New Brunswick High School and teach civics to students who will value the insights and knowledge they gain through the Darien Civic Engagement Program.
Meghan ShokoffMeghan Shokoff is a freshman at Rutgers University. She is double majoring in Political Science and Economics. She hopes to attend law school after graduation and someday hold public office.
Monica BeshayMonica Beshay is currently a sophomore double majoring in Political Science and Public Policy. She hopes to further her education by receiving a law degree, and eventually working in a public office. She hopes to create a positive change for society.
Roshani ParikhRoshni is a freshman in the Rutgers School of Arts and Sciences majoring in political science and economics. She is on the pre-law track and on the Rutgers Debate Union.
Sonay BarazeshSonay Barazesh is a sophomore majoring in Middle Eastern Studies and Political Science. She hopes to attend law school and work in international migration law.
Talyah BasitTalyah Basit is a junior at Rutgers pursuing Political Science and English majors and a minor in Philosophy. She is a proud member of the SAS Honors Program, Douglas Residential College, and the Lloyd C. Gardner Fellowship Program in Leadership and Social Policy. She plans on attending graduate school for comparative literature and/or public policy.
